My Journey to Art
Sometimes life takes us on detours so that we arrive exactly where our heart has always wanted to be.
I was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1961 and grew up in Maintal-Dörnigheim. For many years, my life was dominated by a demanding, intellectually stimulating career – full of responsibility, deadlines, and structure. But deep inside me lay something waiting to be discovered: my creativity.
Only when I found the courage to follow my heart did my real journey begin. Art became a language for me, capable of expressing feelings for which words often fall short. Every brushstroke gave me a piece of freedom, every new technique opened another door to my own creativity.
Change has always been a constant in my life. The decision to emigrate to the Czech Republic was therefore not just a change of location, but a conscious step towards a life that feels lighter, freer, and more authentic. Here I found the peace, the inspiration, and the space to let my artistic vision grow.
I am self-taught – and I'm proud of it. My art didn't develop according to fixed rules, but rather out of curiosity, passion, and countless hours of experimentation. For me, colors, textures, and materials are not tools, but expressions of emotions and stories. They are allowed to unfold freely, to surprise and to move.
Of course, I've learned from many renowned artists and attended numerous workshops and masterclasses. But my most important teacher has always been my own experience – the courage to try new things, to see mistakes as opportunities, and to trust my inner instincts.
I hope my paintings are more than just works of art. They should touch people, invite them to pause and reflect, and remind them that creativity, hope, and the strength for a new beginning lie within each of us.
Because sometimes the most beautiful picture doesn't begin with a perfect plan, but with the courage to make the first brushstroke. And that's precisely where the stories that come from the heart are born.
