Thoughts:
A very small deer stood still by a very small tree, transfigured as if in a dream.
That was at 11:02 PM. And then I came by again at 4:00 AM.,
And the animal was still dreaming. Now I crept quietly – I hardly breathed – against the wind to the tree,
And gave the deer a tiny little nudge. And there it was, made of plaster.
